ABOUT SPRAY TANNING

Spray Tanning is the safe and easy way to get a beautiful golden tan within just a few minutes.

A fine mist of tanning solution is sprayed onto your skin, this solution contains DHA (Dihydroxy Acetone) which is found naturally in sugar cane. The DHA interacts with the amino acids in the outer layer of the skin.

The solution also contains an instant bronzer so you can see your tan immediately, whilst the DHA darkens the skin naturally over the following 24 hours. You can wash of the instant bronzer after around 6 hours although it is best to leave it overnight if you can.

The spray tan application takes between 5-15 minutes, it dries almost instantly so you can get dressed straight after your tan is done.

BEFORE YOUR SPRAY TAN

• Here are a few tips to help ensure you get a great tan:
  
  
• Exfoliate and moisturise your skin well the night before your tan is applied. Please pay particular attention to the knees, elbows and back of heels.
  
• Ensure all hair removal is done 24 hours before your appointment as this allows enough time for your pores to close.
• Remove all make up and moisturisers before your appointment.
• Avoid wearing deodorant and perfume on the day of your tan.
  
• Please do not apply moisturiser on the day of your tan as this will cause a barrier to your spray tan
• Wear loose dark clothing and underwear to your appointment
  (flip-flops or sandals are also a good idea!).
  Please avoid wearing socks, trainers or boots as these can cause rub marks and affect the outcome of your tan.
  
  PROLONGING THAT PERFECT TAN
  
  We recommend having 2 tanning sessions in the first week followed
  by 1 per week thereafter, although a one-off tan every now and again is fine.
  
  If you would like to book a tan for a special event such as a wedding please book a ‘trial’ session plenty of time (at least 2 weeks) before so we can ensure the perfect shade for your big day.

• Here are some tips to help you get the best out of your newly applied Spray Tan:
  
  
• Do not wash your hands for 2-3 hours as this will cause your hands to look white.
  
• Try not to touch your skin after your spray tan as this could transfer some of the colour onto the palms of your hands, which is difficult to remove.
• Avoid having a bath or a shower for around 6 hours after your spray tan is applied.
• Avoid applying moisturisers and/or deodorants until your tan has developed.
• Try to avoid tight clothing for around 6 hours as this can cause marks.
• Swimming and vigorous exercise should be avoided for at least 6 hours as this can affect the tan developing.
  
  Remember: When you take a shower or a bath you will see some colour wash off. Don't worry. This is quite normal as it is only the colour guide that is sprayed on when the tan is applied. You will be left with a gorgeous tan.
  
  MAINTAINING YOUR SPRAY TAN
  
  It is recommended you follow these general guidelines to maintain your tan:
  
  
• You should moisturise your body once or twice a day. Tan extenders are a great way to help maintain your tan for longer.
• Avoid long hot baths and showers as these speed up exfoliation, a quick shower is the best choice!
• Pat your skin dry after a bath or shower. Rubbing your skin may rub off your tan.
• Avoid swimming pools or sea water if possible as these can reduce your tan.
